Many Jewish church leaders of Jesus’ time thought they were close to God, yet they couldn’t recognize that God (in the person of Christ) was right in front of them because He did not fit their expectations.

Even today, some people will pray for God’s help, be it spiritual or physical, but they will reject the answer God sends because it is unfamiliar to them or it isn’t what they pictured.

For example, I have seen people reject godly teaching only because it was different than what they grew up believing. I have also seen people reject godly advice because it didn’t come from their own pastor or church.

Regardless of how old you are or how long you’ve been a Christian, keep a teachable spirit. Don’t be quick to reject something just because it’s not what you’re used to. First make sure that it aligns with what the Bible says, then take time to pray on it. You never know if it could be an answer to your prayers!

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8-9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
