In this video, I share what it means to be “born-again” and what the Bible says about it. Play the video or scroll below to read the transcript.
Before becoming a born-again Christian, I believed in Jesus for many years but wasn’t living as a follower of Christ should.
I know many other Christians who profess faith in Christ, but they’re just like I was at one point.
This is what the Bible says about this in James 2:19-20: You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?
That scripture shows that professing faith in Christ is not enough. A saving faith should also produce certain actions in a person.
So what does it mean to really be born again?
This is what Jesus said in John 3:5: Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.
After saying the sinner’s prayer, receiving Christ into your heart, and repenting for your sins, you need to be water baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit to complete your conversion.
After those things have happened, your life should organically reflect the fruit of God’s character in your life if you are truly saved.
If you don’t have evidence of change in your life, if you have not been baptized, or if you have not been filled with the Holy Spirit then you need to take steps to complete your conversion to Christ.
The bible says that in Christ we are new creatures. When you come to Christ, it’s impossible for you to stay the same and for your life not to change.
