Proverbs 12:26 (NKJV)
The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray.
In 1 Kings 3:12 we read about how God made King Solomon the wisest man that would ever live. Despite his great wisdom, the women he loved turned his heart to worship idols (1 Kings 11). Solomon reminds me of some Christ followers today who think worldly friendships don’t affect them. I don’t mean that we shouldn’t befriend non-believers. But I am saying that we should be prayerful about our friends as they will influence what we do.
Do you have friends that lead you to disobey God? Pray that Jesus may remove friendships from your life that displease Him. You might be surprised by who stays and who goes.
1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV)
Do not be misled: “Evil company corrupts good character.”
