Soldiers in the army have to show a very serious level of discipline and devotion to their position because of what is at stake. At times a soldier’s family can even feel like they are being neglected because of the level of commitment that is required of them to the army. Their entire lifestyle and schedule revolves around it.
If this is the case, how much more should a soldier of Christ be devoted to the army of God? Did you know that if you are a born again Christian you are in a spiritual army for God’s kingdom? The enemy we are fighting against is satan and his demons. Our weapons are the blood of Jesus, the Word of God and prayer. Our defense armor is our shield of faith, our helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the waistband of truth, and the shoes of the gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:14-17).
Jesus is raising up a spiritual army of soldiers in these last days. There is a vital mission to be accomplished, which is winning souls for the Kingdom. For Jesus to deploy you, you need to be living for Him 100% and walking in His ways.
If you cannot love your brother and sister in Christ or forgive those who hurt you, how will you be able to endure persecution? If you are not being strengthened daily in prayer and the Word of God, how will you have the spiritual muscle needed to take out the enemy? If you do not fast, how will you be able to deny your flesh when temptation comes? If you are not filled with the Holy Spirit, how will you discern the traps and deception of the enemy without His guidance?
We are fighting against an enemy that will do anything to keep souls from going to heaven, and only those rooted in Christ and filled with His mighty power will be able to overcome him. Jesus Christ is coming soon, and this is the time to be strengthened in our relationship with Christ by walking in obedience to His Word, praying and fasting. I won’t pretend like I have arrived or have it all together myself, but I am striving towards the goal and want to exhort others to do the same. -Jolie Harris
Ephesians 6:10-13 KJV
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
God bless you
