A person who wants to maintain a clean house has to put in effort.
They will need to clean up messes after they happen rather than allowing trash to pile up. They will need to routinely clean different parts of the house, and ensure they don’t allow visitors to spoil their immaculate home.
The Holy Spirit showed me that this principle applies to our spiritual lives too.
If we want to keep ourselves clean from sin, it requires us to routinely examine different areas of our lives, and exercise carefulness with the people who are close to us.
We can’t allow anything and everything into our lives and expect to be close to God. Instead, we can rely on the Holy Spirit’s power and direction, and spend time with God in scripture to know how to keep our spiritual houses clean and in shape.

Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,
