Genesis 2:16-17 NIV
And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
In Genesis 3:1-7, Eve was tempted to eat from a tree that God had forbidden.
The serpent told her: “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (v5)
Eve was enticed by the “wisdom” the fruit would give her, but it wasn’t God’s will for that knowledge to be revealed to her.
Some things are not meant for us to know. If God chooses to conceal something, He has a good reason why.
Let’s be satisfied with what God has already revealed in His Word!
Deuteronomy 29:29 NIV
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
