When I worked in the entertainment industry, one thing I often saw was a person who would meet a celebrity and then give the impression to others that he or she was buddies with that celeb. A person would tag the celebrity in the photo they took together, or write them publicly on social media for all to see. Often though, the celebrity would never acknowledge that person because they didn’t have a true relationship. That makes me think of how many people act with Christ. They say they follow Jesus, go to church, pray for His blessings and etc, but they don’t really have a relationship with Him.

See, what we do for Christ, what we know about Christ, and what we say about Christ doesn’t make up a relationship. It’s our personal time with Jesus and our obedience to Him that signifies if we’re close to God.

If someone asked Jesus about you, would He say He knows you?

Matthew 7:21-23 (NKJV)
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
