One thing I have seen in my life is that when God speaks to give us counsel, it is very important to take heed because God never speaks a word in vain. What He says will surely come to pass!

In Jeremiah 38, The Lord used the prophet Jeremiah to warn king Zedekiah that if he didn’t submit to the king of Babylon’s princes, the city would be burned with fire and Zedekiah himself would be captured (verses 17-18). Jeremiah’s advice to the king was from the Lord yet Zedekiah didn’t take heed to it, and surely what the Lord prophesied through Jeremiah came to pass.

Let’s all learn from king Zedekiah that we should heed God’s counsel, because no word of His will ever fail. Also, while God can forgive us for our sin some of the consequences that come from our disobedience can at times be irreversible. If you desire to be more obedient to the Lord, you can add that to your prayer list so Jesus can help you. You can also add fasting to your prayers.

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭37:1-2‬ ‭KJV
And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah. But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the Lord, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah.
