One of the things I have learned in my Christian walk is to never give up on prayer! No matter what we are facing, prayer is the best solution to overcome it.
Do you need direction for your life?
Are you sick in your body?
Do you need the power to overcome sin?
Then prayer is the answer!
Prayer is where the battles are won, and that is why the devil fights it so hard!
You may feel overwhelmed by life’s troubles or feel discouraged that you don’t see change yet, but don’t give up!
In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus gave His disciples the following parable to illustrate the persistence He wants His followers to have in prayer:
He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
“For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’ ”
And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
(Luke 18:2-8 NIV)
Also, it is important to remember that sin hinders prayer, therefore taking time to examine our hearts and repent before praying will make our prayers more effective (James 5:16).
