In the book of Nehemiah, the Israelites faced intense opposition from their enemies while rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. Their goal was to stop the Jews from finishing the work God called them to do.
Nehemiah encouraged the Israelites:
After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.” (Nehemiah 4:14 NIV)

Opposition is expected in the Christian life, but God doesn’t want us to be discouraged by it. Instead, He wants us to keep fighting and believing in His faithfulness.
