John 16:33 NIV
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
At times it can feel like troubles in our lives won’t stop coming. Just when we overcome one challenge, it seems another difficulty is awaiting us and it can be very discouraging.
If you have ever felt this way, it is normal.
Don’t get me wrong, life is not all bad! God will do good things in our lives that make us happy, but Jesus did say that on Earth we will also suffer and go through troubles. He also promises to give us peace and joy, even in times when our circumstances are bad.
If you have faced many hardships, know that you are in good company. Jacob, Joseph, David, John the Baptist, and even Jesus experienced many hardships in life although God called them to do great things.
If you are feeling weary from your troubles, I encourage you to get refreshed in the presence of God. You can do this by praying, worshipping, and reading the Bible. As you do those things, God will give you the strength you need to keep going.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;
