Matthew 26:40-43 NIV
Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Jesus warned His disciples to be in prayer because He knew the tribulation that was coming.
We must also be in prayer and fasting so we don’t fall away when trouble comes.
Through prayer, God will give us the power we need to endure what is coming.
Matthew 24:10-13 NIV
At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
