Hebrews 12:7
Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?

Like a good parent, The Lord disciplines us for our own benefit.

God’s discipline can come through a difficult situation, advice from another believer, or scripture. Often, however, people don’t learn the lessons God wants to teach them through their situation.

When people refuse to learn, God must take them through harder circumstances or allow them to experience severe consequences.

Whichever way God has been trying to communicate with you, make sure you pay attention to His words. Ask Him to show you your “blind spots” and give you a teachable heart.

Proverbs 15:32
Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.

Proverbs 29:1
Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.
