‭‭Exodus‬ ‭3:10-12‬ ‭NIV
So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”

In Exodus 3, The Lord spoke to Moses from a burning bush and called him to deliver the Hebrew people out of Egypt. God also told Moses that He would give him a sign to confirm that it was God who sent him. Then, God told Moses that He would help him speak and teach him what to say (Exodus 4:12). What we can learn from this, is if God has called someone for a ministry He will let them know what it is, what to do, and when it’s the time for it. (Please also read Acts 13:2-3).

We can bring a lot of trouble upon ourselves by going out there to start a ministry outside of God’s will. If it is not yet God’s time, we will not be prepared for the responsibility like we might think. We may have good intentions, but the truth is God doesn’t need to be helped out! Let’s make sure we are always acting by the leading of The Holy Spirit, and not mistaking our passion and desire for the leading of God. If we do believe that Jesus is leading us to begin ministry, we can ask Him in prayer to confirm it. If it is God sending us, then He will equip us with everything we need to serve Him.
