Proverbs 8:17 NIV
I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.
One of the people in the Bible who I admire is Moses, and that’s because he had a really close relationship with God. I believe one of the reasons for that is because Moses spent so much time with Him.
Many times people today want a close relationship with God, but they aren’t willing to make sacrifices to spend time with Him. They choose to sleep longer instead of praying before work. They refuse to fast because it’s uncomfortable. They choose to watch movies or go on social media instead of studying God’s Word.
I am not saying it’s bad to rest or have fun, but we need to be balanced and prioritize our time with the Lord. God is willing to have a close relationship with us, but we have to do what it takes to keep Him first in our lives.
If you want a closer relationship with Christ, you can start by spending more time in prayer and in His Word. People with busy schedules will use that as an excuse, but the truth is we all make time for what is important to us!
Also, sin hinders our prayers and takes us far from God. By repenting and walking in God’s will we will stay close to Him (John 9:31).
James 4:8 NIV
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
