In Acts 10:9-48 there was a centurion named Cornelius. He believed in the Jewish God, but he did not yet know about salvation through Jesus Christ.
An angel appeared instructing him where to find the apostle Peter so that he could hear the Gospel and be saved. When Peter came to Cornelius’ house to preach, he and his entire household accepted Christ and were filled with the Holy Spirit!
I have heard people ask, what does God do about people who aren’t raised in Christianity? Isn’t it unfair for them to be judged for their beliefs?
God is just. That is why God sends out apostles, missionaries, and evangelists to share His message. The Bible says that the Gospel will be preached throughout the whole world (Mathew 24:14).
Whether God visits someone in a dream, through a preacher, or an angel–He gives everyone an opportunity to repent and turn to Him. It’s up to a person’s own will, however, to decide whether or not they will follow Him.
John 3:18 NIV
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
