In Mark 10:23 Jesus said it is difficult for a rich person to enter heaven, but that doesn’t mean having wealth is sinful.

Jesus said that because people can develop an attachment to material things that hinders them from following God. (This happened to the rich young ruler in Mark 10:17-22.)

Others in the Bible like Job and Abraham had wealth, but they didn’t put it above God.

If God blesses you financially, remember He has a purpose for it. Continue to put Christ first, and ask God how He wants you to use the resources He’s given you to help others.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 NIV
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
