In Mark 4:35-41, the disciples of Jesus were with Him on a boat when there came a great storm and the boat began to get filled with water.

Mark 4:38-40 says:
Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

After I became saved, I often had a similar attitude as the disciples did in the verses above. When I faced various struggles I would panic and feel as if God didn’t really care about me. Thank God that He delivered me from believing that lie, because the truth is that God does care about us and our problems. In fact, if we are born-again believers then Jesus is there with us right in the midst of the problem just like He was with the disciples when they thought they were about to drown.

Troubles may arise as we follow Jesus, but God wants us to have faith in such situations. Just like Jesus calmed the storm for the disciples with His Word, He also has the power to calm the troubles in our own lives. That’s why regardless of how bad things look, if we truly have a relationship with Jesus then we need to believe that God does care and will deliver us in His right timing.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭34:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
