I began sharing Bible Devotionals around five years ago, but what many people who read them don’t know is the struggles I’ve had in my walk with Christ since then.
When I became saved I was very passionate about Jesus and sharing His Word with others, but there came a time when I started declining in my spiritual life because my prayer life weakened and I was distracted with other things. During that point years ago, I couldn’t even write devotionals because when I tried, God did not give me the words. Thankfully Jesus restored me, but I still experienced ups and downs in my journey.
Some of the struggles I had included my mind, attitude, unforgiveness, my prayer and fasting life, and pride to name a few. I fought with many discouraging thoughts from the devil which made me feel like I wasn’t good enough to preach the Gospel since I had so many weaknesses.
God is very faithful because He has helped me to overcome many of those obstacles, and in His timing, He restored my ministry of sharing Bible devotionals by giving me the words to write again.
My purpose in sharing this testimony is to show that Jesus uses imperfect vessels to serve Him. The things which I can do and messages that I share are only because of The Holy Spirit in me, not because of me.
Jesus gets glory from our lives when He uses us in spite of our shortcomings because it shows how powerful He is. If we didn’t have weaknesses we might think that we are operating by our own strength and power. We wouldn’t give Jesus the Glory.
1 Corinthians 1:26-29 NIV
Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.
