Before his conversion, the Apostle Paul was a Jew who persecuted Christians. Paul was zealous about obeying scripture and thought Christians were blaspheming God by believing in Jesus Christ. (In the Old Testament, blasphemy was punishable by death.)

Eventually, Paul received a revelation that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, and he changed his ways.

When believers try to interpret scripture without the Holy Spirit, they end up making mistakes like Paul.

Before you make judgments about other believers, always ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you that person’s heart. You never know if the very thing you are condemning about a person is something God is using for His glory.

John 7:24 NIV
Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”
