Proverbs 26:11 KJV
As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
At times people can let go of things in their lives that hinder their walk with Christ but then find themselves going right back to it again.
Maybe you chose to end an ungodly relationship, but then you let that person back into your life. Maybe you decided to quit using drugs or alcohol, but then picked it up again. Or maybe you decided to stop watching certain movies or listening to certain music, but then started again.
Whatever your situation is, be firm and decided in choosing to please God. Don’t go back and forth with your decision, but rather choose to not turn back!
It also helps to avoid people or places that can trigger backsliding in that particular area. Nothing is worth keeping in our lives if it hinders our walk with God!
Hebrews 12:1 NIV
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
