One of the things that God instilled in me early on is that praying, fasting, and Bible reading should be a regular part of the Christian life.

If we are not praying and reading our Bible regularly, it’s giving a door to the enemy in our lives and makes us more susceptible to spiritual attacks.

If you are in a busy season of life here are some ways to help you spend time in the Word that have helped me also:

– If you work or have children, waking up a little earlier will give you extra quiet time.

– You can play the Bible audibly using a free app (i.e. YouVersion) or YouTube while you make breakfast or get ready for the day.

– You can take short breaks to read a Bible verse during the day or spend time in the Word during your lunch break.

– If you don’t have the capacity to read an entire passage of scripture or chapter, you can start with one Bible verse and meditate on it throughout the day.

– If you’re having trouble spending regular time in the Word, pray and ask God to help you as you also put in the effort.

Remember that the people of the Bible such as David, Daniel, Paul, and even Jesus Himself were all very busy with their responsibilities, however, they still made time for God daily.

If we want to grow spiritually, we have to be intentional about spending time in the Word. That is how we will get to know about God’s character and learn His will for our lives.

The way we spend time in the Word might look different in busy seasons, but what God cares about is giving our best effort.

Deuteronomy‬ ‭11:18-19‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
