Psalm 32:5 NIV
Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Although king David struggled with sin, he found mercy with God because he didn’t try to cover up the wrong he did. Instead, he confessed his sins to God and asked for help to do what was right.
The fact that we can repent and be forgiven for our sins is truly a gift! If we do anything that displeases God we should repent for it right away, because once we cross over to eternity there will be no more chances to repent!
Remember, repenting is not only admitting our fault but also turning away from doing it. One of the things I love about fasting, is that we can use it to present our weaknesses to Christ so that He can help us walk in His ways.
1 John 1:9 NIV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
