Mark 5:25-29 NIV
And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
The instance above is one of the many healings performed by Jesus in the Bible. Among others were people suffering from blindness, leprosy, and other disabilities who were healed. What I love about the woman with the flow of blood, is that she exhausted all resources that were available in the physical. There are many people in situations like this today, who are suffering from mental illnesses, cancer, and other diseases which have no guaranteed treatment. In many cases, doctors provide medical help only based on statistics and theories.
What it shows us is that there is a limit to science and human ability. While these resources are helpful to us and are used by God, it is not good to exalt them to God’s place. We should always seek God and allow Him to work in whichever way He chooses, be it through medicine or supernaturally. If God does use medical help to heal you, remember to give Jesus the glory because it was Him who gave the doctor the wisdom and ability to help you.
