Proverbs 20:4 AMP
The lazy man does not plow when the winter [planting] season arrives; So he begs at the [next] harvest and has nothing [to reap].
Many people can excel in different areas of their lives such as work, business, or an exercise routine, but then are lazy when it comes to spiritual disciplines like praying, fasting, or reading the Bible.
God wants us to be successful and responsible, but what He cares about most is our spiritual health. That is what will matter most in eternity (when we reap our “harvest” for how we lived on earth).
We will all stand before God one day, and none of us will have any excuse as to why we did not seek God and do His will.
If you’re lacking discipline in your walk with God, don’t make excuses. Decide to make a change today and ask the Holy Spirit to help you stay committed.
