The prophet Daniel didn’t waver in his faith despite the ungodly influences and persecution that he encountered. I believe that is because of the personal time he spent with God.
The Bible says:
Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. (Daniel 6:10 NIV)
Christians who pray, fast, and study their Bibles regularly carry God’s power and are able to remain strong in their faith despite facing difficult circumstances.
If it’s hard for you to keep godly character when there’s opposition, I encourage you to examine how you’re doing in the areas I mentioned above.
In these last days, persecution and spiritual warfare will increase. We’ll only remain strong if we stay close to God by spending time with Him.
Let’s not make excuses when it comes to praying, fasting, and reading our Bibles!
1 Chronicles 16:11 NIV
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
